Hello. My name is Tom Perry.

I am passionate about helping people to overcome their health issues, lose weight, and regain their energy and vitality.

I know what it is like to have major health issues, struggle with weight gain, and feel lousy about life and myself.

That is why I am here to help you to improve your diet and your health, lose weight, get fitter and enjoy your life to the fullest.

It wasn’t long ago that I was diagnosed with alarmingly high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure and high triglycerides. My doctor told me bluntly to lose weight, start taking medications regularly, or die! She told me my arteries were already about a quarter blocked, and given my age (50), gender (male) and family history, she said I was in a “high-risk category” for heart attack.

Then I discovered a way to gradually, and healthfully lose weight, cut out all, or at least most of the junk in my diet, and regain a little of my youthful fitness. I have been a vegetarian and vegan since my late teens, but I discovered the hard way that, regardless of your type of diet, you can still make poor choices and consume too much fat, salt, sugar, and overly-refined, processed foods.

It hasn’t always been easy. I have seen my cholesterol plummet to safe levels, then after (foolishly) going off my medications, skyrocket again. My weight loss, while steady, has stalled and sometime crept back up. My blood pressure has gone close to normal levels too, then climbed back to the danger zone. Just recently, I received via a blood test the great news that my cholesterol, triglyceride and blood pressure levels were all way down and well within the safety zone.

I continue to embrace a healthy, plant-based vegan diet; focusing on lots of raw fruits and vegetables, and mainly whole grains and legumes for protein, fibre and healthy, whole-food carbohydrates. I don’t believe in skipping meals, religiously counting calories or living on supplements. I am on a fitness regime, and eating better than I ever have before. I’m losing weight (about 15 pounds/7-8 kilos so far), gradually, and feeling great!

I am still taking cholesterol and blood pressure medications (on doctor’s orders), and working on my fitness. But the more I practice this lifestyle, the better I feel and the more my mind and body thanks me.
